Hi guys,
Long time, no see!
A nutshell rundown of what's happened over the last 8 months:
- I started doing more "actory" things, like auditioning, classes and plays.
- I moved! To a different part of Los Angeles, into a lovely home with no kitchen (gasp! more on that later...)
- I went to New York City for 3 months
- Fell in love (with a lot :)
- Had a crazy epic cross country road trip both ways
- Returned to LA around Halloween and fell into a (seemingly) bottomless pit of despair
- After about a month or so of wallowing, I slapped myself in the face and am currently (and successfully) in the process of crawling out of said pit.
What a perfect time to step back to the bright side!!
In the last couple of weeks, I've heard several people in passing describe the ups and downs of my chosen industry/ field/ business/ art as FEAST OR FAMINE.
To give you a visual:
My time with great friends and fellow performers in New York City was the grandest of feasts.
Both literally...

And metaphorically...
While the time spent broke as a joke and readjusting to LA after such an extreme high
To spare you the many pitiful details, I'll jump to the point of reawakening my bright side tendencies.
Once I realized I was not only making myself, but everyone around me (including those I loved the most), miserable with my constant negative talk and thinking, I had to take action.
I thought back to my days in the [spin class/ yoga/ healthy eating/ juicing daily] saddle and knew that's where I needed to get back to.
So here I am!
As with all lifestyle shifts, there have already been a few bumps in the road.
Like this for instance:
Yep, my new restaurant job is conveniently situated across the street from Magnolia Bakery.
Which means this happened yesterday before work:
And this:
As you can see, not too much has changed.
But with all great shifts in life, I'd like to think I'm a little wiser and more worn into the world, which of course means I should be bringing you even more awesome posts as regularly as I can manage (Mama, I'm talkin to you ;).
I've come to realize that good food and healthy living gives me sanity in this modern world that- let's face it- usually seems to have everything BUT!
So, hello again! I'm excited to be back in the game, redecorating my little corner of the interweb as this roller coaster of a year rounds down and the highly anticipated days of 2012 begin.
Tomorrow morning, I'm making waffles and granola.
You should definitely come back and see how they turn out.
Love to all xoxoxoxoxoxo
